If you attempt to put a swat helmet on Ian, you get the message, "It doesn't seem too keen on wearing that item," and it remains in your hand spot. But if you open up Ian's inventory again, you'll find that it's equipped, but not showing on his sprite. You then can remove it from Ian, causing it to appear on the ground under him, and also while you still have it where you last put it (hand slot, helmet slot, a table, etc.) If you move it while it's not equipped the other helmet disappears, unless you equip it first, then you get a full hand slot. You can open up the hand slot by clicking a table, which places a helmet with no hand ui icon sprite.
Edit: Tried this with the captain's helmet, also equipped as the space helmet while getting the same not too keen message.

Built a conveyor belt and set each piece's direction with a multitool. The sprite changed properly but when I turned the belt on every piece would send me south, or north if I reversed the switch. I then used a multitool to alter the direction of one of the belts in cargo, but again only the sprite changed. The direction couldn't be altered.
I'd suggest flaps being made constructable/destructable too.

Varediting the icon_state of the "shield_##" sections to "coreshield_##" fixes the sprites.
It's not always the same sections, but in the standard layout the sections adjacent to the control panel seem to suffer from this more often.

If it would be possible, to make the colour red to stand out while wearing noirglasses, simply to add to the atmosphere that the detective actually was in a 1950's movie.

<li>While smoking a cigarette it's in between the eyes</li>
<li>While smoking the detective's pipe, the pipe doesn't go in the greys mouth</li>
<li>When injected with green slime extract, turning the grey into a slime human, parts of the grey head still stick out of the slime's face </li>
<li>When the face is beat up/damaged really bad it sometimes shows human features underneath</li>
<li>Any kind of glasses are positioned strangely, although this could be intentional.</li>
</ul>
