Dirty microwaves extremely picky about space cleaner

It seems dirty microwaves will only ever accept space cleaner in it's original packaging for the purpose of cleaning, which can make it needlessly hard for a clumsy chef. Example: Janitor missing, so you get yourself some ammonia, grab one of the Plant-B-Gone sprays from Hydroponics, empty it, and fill it with space cleaner. The microwave won't take it, even though it now functions identically to a space cleaner spray bottle. It HAS to be the spray bottle from custodial's or chemistry, and if those are gone you're boned.
