Visible ghosts protect people from attacks

I'm not sure how to fit this into the bug report format you get in-game, so I won't. When ghosts are visible (most prominently during cult rounds), they will haunt people quickly enough that it becomes a problem to hit them during combat. This obviously didn't happen before the change to how ghost following works.
Maybe it's possible to layer visible ghosts under living people? I dunno, you're the experts.
